50
Naval architecture makes no exception:  if theory is essential, experience and practice are no less so in designing and making an ocean-going sail cruiser like the Beneteau 50.

Bruce Farr has, of course, put all his talent into the hull lines, and Beneteau, in collaboration with Armel Briand, has sought original solutions for bringing still more improvements to the comfort of the layout and the deck plan. It is however the experience of all who have used Oceanis and large Beneteau yachts that has undoubtedly contributed the most important lessons in designing the Beneteau 50.

Reliability, performance, comfort both at sea and in port, cruising range and adaptability have therefore been the main criteria adopted in making this ocean-going cruiser.
