Swift Trawler 34 Come see the ST 34 at our dock at the Ft. Lauderdale Show, Slip B, October 28th through November 1st.
“Trawler?” Well, unlike many full-displacement vessels more frequently associated with the trawler tag, Beneteau’s Swift Trawler 34 has a semi-displacement running surface that allows her a top end in excess of 20 knots from her single 425 hp Cummins at WOT. But you can pull the throttle back to 2,000 rpm and cruise in diesel-sipping comfort with a range of over 300 miles. |
The 34 provides exceptional room, comfort, and economy for a cruising couple, and with standard bow and optional stern thrusters, it singlehands easily in tight spaces.

We all know the bittersweet sound of our bilge pumps. Bitter, because we know water has infiltrated our hull. Sweet, because we know it’s getting pumped back where it belongs. But when we hear the sound too often, we know there’s a potentially dangerous problem.
A sailor heading south for the winter stopped at our Charleston facility with a chronic leak. A New Jersey service stop failed to identify and fix the problem, and it seemed to be getting worse. The batteries were certainly getting a workout!
A check at the dock revealed no obvious leakage from the stuffing box or any of the through-hull fittings. Our tech found moisture near one of the through hulls, however. Taking the boat out for a spin revealed a leak at the fitting as the boat approached 6 knots. We hauled the boat, removed the fitting, cleaned it, replaced it and resealed it. Three weeks later we received a postcard from Key West from the happy owner.
Face it, there’s no shortage of things that can go wrong on a boat. But proper inspection, regular maintenance, and thorough commissioning can prevent many problems during your boating season. Through hulls are obviously a potential problem source deserving attention on at least an annual basis. They certainly take a high priority in our yard!
Our service department has received Beneteau service awards every year since 2002, when the award was instituted. We are Raymarine and also National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) certified.
Our sales teams may sell the boats, but our Service Department keeps our customers happy! Contact Service@St-Barts.com or call:

1.5 million ocean miles. 1,200 passages. Proof positive that Beneteau can go the distance!
St. Barts Yacht Deliveries (SBYD) have been delivering Beneteaus for charter companies since the month my daughter, Sarah, was born almost 19 years ago.
In that time we have taken well over 1,000 trips, most of them to and from the Caribbean. Our longest deliveries have been from Charleston, SC to Tahiti in the South Pacific. All sailed on their own bottom (well, sometimes motored – if the wind don’t blow we still gotta go!), delivered on time, and fully shipshape.
The safety record of Beneteau Sailboats is exceptional, and our blue water experience bears this out.
These boats can cross oceans, with speed, safety, and comfort. So when you are looking for that next boat, please keep in mind that the higher cost of our more expensive competitors has no correlation to higher safety standards (or, often, higher quality).
Beneteau boats look great, sail great and can safely take you anywhere you want to go.
Many of you reading this newsletter have done a trip, or many trips, with us. You’re familiar with the meticulous preparation and planning we put into every launch, and every passage.
We’re extremely proud of our safety record, and our customers appreciate it, too!
Because of our experience, and our people, we have commissioned more Beneteaus than any other dealer of any other brand. That works out very well for you when you buy a Beneteau from us. We know how to commission your new boat, and keep it in Bristol fashion.
